Open Access Policy and Publication Fees
Open Access Policy and Publication Fees
This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
The journal does not charge readers any fees to access scientific articles, nor does it require subscription payments.
However, as the journal does not receive external funding (public or private) to fully cover editorial costs, and in order to maintain high standards of scientific publishing, a modest fee is applied to authors to cover expenses related to the editorial process, including:
- Web hosting and maintenance.
- Design, layout, and production.
- Language and scientific editing.
- Peer review process.
- Issuance of certificates.
- Administrative and email support.
- Dissemination through social media.
- Metadata correction and management.
- DOI registration, indexing, and related costs.
- Administrative office and registered address.
- Legal advisory services.
- Taxes.
The editorial team of SPORTIS considers that editing and managing a scientific journal constitutes a specialized professional activity involving various qualified roles (editors, reviewers, layout editors, technical staff, etc.), whose work is subject to financial compensation in accordance with applicable legislation.
In this regard, and in line with the principles of editorial sustainability and transparency, the journal establishes an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover the costs associated with the editorial process described above.
This fee applies only to articles that have been accepted for publication and is clearly communicated to authors in advance, ensuring at all times the independence of the scientific evaluation process and compliance with ethical and editorial quality standards.
The current editorial fee is €300 and is only payable upon acceptance of the article. Submission and peer review are completely free of charge.
