Ethical aspects and good practices
Bioethical Aspects
SPORTIS is governed by the following bioethical principles:
- Any fee or charge required for manuscript processing and/or publication will be clearly indicated before authors begin preparing their submission.
- Authors are required to participate in the peer review process.
- All authors signing an article must have contributed significantly to the research. The editor may request clarification if an unusually high number of authors is observed.
- All authors are required to provide retractions or corrections of errors when necessary.
- Authors must include only the references used and disclose all sources of financial support.
- Duplicate publication is strictly prohibited. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals is considered bad practice.
- The editorial team will take reasonable measures to identify and prevent research misconduct.
- No member of the journal staff will encourage or knowingly allow misconduct.
- Allegations of research misconduct will be addressed appropriately by the editorial team.
- The journal has procedures for retracting or correcting articles when necessary.
- Editors will publish corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when required.
- All research involving human participants must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and include approval from a relevant Ethics Committee.
- Participants must not be identifiable in images or text. Authorization for publication must be provided, especially in the case of minors.
- Experimental studies involving living beings must include approval from a Bioethics Committee, stated in the Materials and Methods section.
- SPORTIS follows international ethical standards, including the COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
- The journal uses Crossref Similarity Check plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with high plagiarism or unjustified self-citation rates will be returned without peer review.
