Componentes organizacionales y participación de atletas en deportes colectivos universitarios: un análisis basado en sistemas

Los programas deportivos universitarios requieren un apoyo organizacional coordinado para mantener la participación de los atletas en diferentes niveles competitivos. Este estudio examinó la implementación de cuatro componentes organizacionales de un Programa de Desarrollo Deportivo universitario y sus relaciones con la participación de atletas universitarios. Se empleó un diseño explicativo transversal cuantitativo con 75 atletas universitarios de baloncesto, voleibol, béisbol y sóftbol de una universidad pública de Filipinas. Los datos se recopilaron mediante un cuestionario de 70 ítems elaborado por el investigador, que evaluó el reclutamiento y la retención, los beneficios e incentivos, las instalaciones deportivas, el mantenimiento del equipo y la participación en competencias locales, regionales y nacionales. Se utilizaron estadísticos descriptivos, correlación de Pearson y regresión lineal múltiple. Los componentes organizacionales presentaron niveles de implementación generalmente altos a muy altos. La participación fue muy alta en los niveles local y regional y alta en el nivel nacional. Los componentes organizacionales mostraron asociaciones generalmente positivas con la participación, aunque la fuerza y significancia de las relaciones variaron según el nivel competitivo. El modelo de regresión fue significativo, F(4, 70) = 8.425, p < .001, y explicó el 32.5% de la varianza de la participación general. El mantenimiento del equipo fue el único predictor significativo (β = .487, p < .001). Los resultados proporcionan una base empírica para fortalecer los programas deportivos universitarios mediante una planificación organizacional y una gestión coordinada de los recursos.
