Análisis del panorama científico sobre la cafeína y el rendimiento deportivo en estudios recientes sobre deportistas

La cafeína es una sustancia ergogénica muy utilizada en el deporte moderno. El objetivo de este estudio es trazar una evolución de las publicaciones, las líneas de investigación, las contribuciones de los distintos países y el papel de la cafeína en la mejora del rendimiento deportivo, basándose en publicaciones recientes que incluyen artículos muy citados. En este estudio se analizó la relación entre la cafeína y el rendimiento deportivo mediante un enfoque bibliométrico y una revisión sistemática de la literatura sobre las publicaciones más influyentes. Los resultados del análisis muestran que la cafeína puede potenciar el rendimiento deportivo. Sin embargo, en investigaciones recientes existen preocupaciones respecto a la aparición de ansiedad, síntomas gastrointestinales y dopaje, por lo que las investigaciones futuras deben hacer hincapié en la seguridad del consumo de cafeína. Según las publicaciones, el enfoque predominante es experimental y aplicado, y las publicaciones proceden principalmente de países como España, Estados Unidos, Brasil, Reino Unido, Turquía, Australia, Irán, China, Polonia y Canadá. Este estudio concluye que la cafeína tiene una gran relevancia científica y práctica para mejorar el rendimiento de los deportistas, pero su uso debe ser individualizado, con control de la dosis y supervisado en cuanto a las respuestas fisiológicas y psicológicas.
