Relación entre el excesivo uso del smartphone, el nivel de actividad física con el sobrepeso y obesidad en adolescentes

El excesivo uso del smartphone se ha incrementado de manera abrumadora a nivel mundial en los adolescentes, lo que ha ido generando sedentarismo, inactividad física sobrepeso y obesidad. El objetivo fue determinar la relación entre el excesivo uso del smartphone, el nivel de actividad física con el sobrepeso y obesidad en adolescentes de Juliaca, Perú 2025. Material y métodos; se asumió un tipo de investigación no experimental con diseño descriptivo correlacional. Se seleccionó una muestra de tipo no probabilística de 827 adolescentes de instituciones públicas de 12 a 17 años (425 mujeres y 402 varones). Los instrumentos utilizados fueron los cuestionarios de tiempo frente al smartphone y actividad física los cuales fueron validados por expertos y obtuvieron un Alfa de Cronbach de 0.91 y 0.87, se realizó la medición antropométrica del peso corporal y la estatura. Resultados el 35.3% y 27.7% permanecen de 3 a 4 y de 5 a 6 horas diarias durante la semana. En la actividad física, las mujeres muestran nivel bajo 17.2%, en contraste con los varones nivel alto 15.5%. En el IMC los adolescentes presentan un nivel normal 56.1%, las mujeres evidencian prevalencia al sobrepeso y obesidad 15.6% y 9.8%. Discusión; los apoderados de familia, deben controlar y regular el tiempo frente al smartphone de los adolescentes para evitar problemas de salud en su vida futura. Se concluye que existe correlación significativa entre las variables excesivo uso del smartphone durante y el fin de semana con el IMC de los adolescentes.
